A wee poetic seed took hold and flourished almost clandestinely. I love it when that happens, when a poem grows, unfolds and then simply says, ‘hey presto, you’ve been expecting me’. Here goes.
Serenity
The iridescent pearls of introspection,
the shimmer of wildest possibility,
a glimpse of hope in full flight.
Fleeting, weightless, quiet.
Serenity won’t take up space.
Like peace, love, trust,
it remains unnoticed in plain sight.
I can’t grasp wonder with my hands.
I can only resonate from within.
I love the images and mood of this poem. Especially those “iridescent pearls of introspection”. Beautiful!
“A glimpse of hope in full flight” reminds me of Emily Dickinson’s “hope is the thing with feathers” discussed in my most recent blog post.
