Cold, by Britta Benson

I’m experimenting with haiku right now. I am cutting up an old book I once dropped in the bath tub (by accident, I don’t deliberately kill books). I’m making up little flowers, then pick random words on the petals and see if I can make a haiku out of them. Just an experiment, but I have to say, I like it very much.

In case you struggle deciphering my handwriting on the blue scrap, here’s the haiku:

Cold opened the gate,

explained hard love, gift of crumbs,

loss simply followed.
