Sibilance song, by Britta Benson

I like Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompts. Especially the ones with a very low word count. This week, the prompt is ‘Sibilance’ with a word count of a measly 28. Just what I was after…

Here’s the link to the full blog post: https://sammiscribbles.wordpress.com/2022/08/06/weekend-writing-prompt-271-sibilance/

And here’s my take on it:

Sibilance Song

Hearts of grass,
souls of glass,
next to sycamore solitude,
drowsing.

Sleep pierces more
than just one destiny.
Soft, cynical strangeness
smiles,
asks,
never answers,
leaves
risky silence.
