I’m ploughing my way through ‘Love in the Time of Cholera’. I still love my blackout poetry project. Today, I did another four pages and I want to share this one with you.
It amused me to ‘find’ this writer on the page.
the writer the writer mingled with love, toasted memory lack of maturity avoided reality, then, surrendered to truth and slept body and soul, growing old, little by little in their own time mists against the certainty of death oldest memories, rain, light the end could not reach the spot that itched a strange sensation of not feeling a sad smile
“lack of maturity avoided reality, then, surrendered to truth and slept”
I’ve met and been this writer! 👆👆👆👅

Thanks so much for your kind comment. Much appreciated. I love blackout poetry. I love the surprising findings. It’s so unplannable. There have been pages, where I’ve struggled to find anything, but I never give up. I simply stare at the page for as long as it takes to find the hidden treasures. I’m quite a stubborn creature.

It’s good to find something we enjoy doing. Of course we like to make/write what others may enjoy. But I must be pleased with myself first. (stubborn about that too…. lol )

I love “toasted memory!” So many feelings are evoked from that phrase ❤️

Thanks, Paula. I love ‘toasted memory’, too… I take things quite literally, so I actually imagined a slice of perfectly toasted bread with butter and honey… sticky memory…
